About this event
The annual democracy address in the church where the Monday demonstrations began, with the BachChor, the Ensemble St. Nikolai, a band and soloists under Markus Kaufmann. It sits an hour before the Lichtfest light route switches on, so the evening reads as one piece: words inside the Nikolaikirche, then the city outside.
Why we picked it
The speech happens in the room that made 9 October 1989 possible, and it is open to anyone who walks in.
