About this event
Two hours of Diwali in the Central Library downtown: hands-on crafts, authors reading and talking, and live performance, all pitched at every age in the room. The library is explicit that this one is open to everyone, which is worth saying because most of its calendar is not. A good afternoon to bring people who would not otherwise come downtown.
Why we picked it
The rare Los Angeles Public Library event that states free entry outright, and a full South Asian cultural afternoon in the Central Library.
Free entry
LAPL event listing: "Celebrate the richness of South Asian culture at a vibrant, all-ages Diwali festival, free and open to everyone."
