The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival launches its 2026 anthology, gathering ten emerging Indonesian writers chosen through its Emerging Writers Programme. Their stories move across the archipelago: a grandmother's folktales, myths lingering in modern life, love bent by custom, women pushing back on expectations, and young people who leave home only to find it follows them. Meet the next generation of Indonesian literature at sunset.
