Things to do in Europe

The best-rated shows in Europe and North America: flamenco for €15, fado for €14, the Moulin Rouge, Broadway

Every show rated 4.7 or better by 500 people across Glentio's 37 cities, ranked by rating, from a €14 fado night to a €255 Moulin Rouge dinner.

The shows people rate highest are the small ones. Of the 31 shows in our partner's catalogues for Glentio's 37 cities that are rated 4.7 or better by at least 500 people, as read on October 1, nineteen are flamenco or fado in a room that holds a few dozen, and the two best-rated cost €21 and $28. The list below is all 31, ranked by rating and then by how many booked. Prices are "from" prices in euros, or US dollars where marked. Concerts are a separate kind in the catalogue and are not here.

What the list says

Spain has fifteen of the 31 and Madrid seven on its own. Flamenco under €35 is rated the same as flamenco with dinner at €88, and the Moulin Rouge at €255 is rated the same as Las Brujas at €15; the price buys the room and the meal, not a better show. Las Vegas, the city that sells shows, has two listings and both are a half-hour ride or a revue; the Strip's headline productions are sold outside this catalogue.

For Europeans

Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon and Valencia are budget-airline routes and the €15 to €32 shows take bookings the same day except Friday and Saturday. The Vienna light show is a half-hour between other things, not an evening.

For visitors from the US

Prices are in euros except New York, Chicago, Vancouver and Las Vegas; your card converts. Dates on European posters are day first: 10/10 is October 10. A €32 Madrid tablao with a drink is the best-rated night out in Europe under the price of a Broadway ticket; the Moulin Rouge is the one on this list that needs booking before you fly.

For visitors from East Asia

Mid-October is after Golden Week and the tablaos are not full on weeknights. Flamenco, fado and the light show need no language; the Berlin comedy club is in German and the Athens performance has an English synopsis on the listing. Tax-free forms apply to shops, not shows.
