About this event
The day after Halloween, Queens Botanical Garden invites you to destroy your pumpkin for the public good. Smashed jack-o'-lanterns go straight into the compost yard and come back as soil for gardens across Queens. There are refreshments and activities, it runs rain or shine, and children find the whole premise deeply satisfying.
Why we picked it
Bring your dead jack-o'-lantern, smash it, and watch it become Queens soil - free, and genuinely fun.
Free entry
Listing states 'FREE if you bring your own pumpkin. Registration recommended; Walk-ins welcome. Drop-in. Rain or shine.' Free entry is conditional on bringing a pumpkin.
