About this event
The Downtown Boathouse hands out kayaks, paddles and life jackets and lets anyone paddle a sheltered embayment of the Hudson, free, with volunteers giving basic instruction on the dock. Sessions run all weekend on a walk-up basis. Turn up early: the signup line often closes long before the session ends. You must be able to swim and sign a waiver on site. Closed 15 August for Volunteer Appreciation Day.
