About this event
The Černiauskas brothers photographed what bread cost under Soviet rule — the shortages, the queues, the deprivation, and what actually getting a loaf meant day to day. The show is anchored by a family memory: two linen bags of dried bread, black and white, kept at home long after the family returned from exile, because nobody starves who has a loaf. Quiet, specific, unsentimental.
