About this event
Opera Atelier, Toronto's period-performance company, stages excerpts from The Descent of Orpheus in the COC's free lunchtime slot. Baroque opera done with period instruments and period gesture, in daylight, an hour long — a genuine preview of a full production rather than a token sampler.
Why we picked it
Staged baroque opera excerpts from a specialist company, free, in the middle of a Thursday.
Free entry
Programmed within the Canadian Opera Company's published 'Free Concert Series'. COC overbooks all free events; unclaimed reservations released to a standby line 15 minutes before start.
