About this event
The world's largest Halloween dog parade returns for its 36th year, with hundreds of costumed dogs marching through the East Village and a festival block alongside it for pups who missed a marching spot. Run by the New York Dog Parade nonprofit, October being adopt-a-shelter-dog month.
Why we picked it
One of New York's most photographed free spectacles, and the only one where the performers are dachshunds in costume.
Free entry
'No dog required! The parade is free to watch.' Marching requires advance registration, which opened 25 September and fills first-come.
