About this event
The Downtown Boathouse hands out sit-on-top kayaks for public use in the sheltered water north of Pier 26, and asks nothing for it. No experience needed - volunteers see you into the boat and you paddle the embayment with lower Manhattan behind you. The 2026 season closes on 4 October, so this is the last chance until spring.
