About this event
One of the largest Dominican celebrations outside the island takes over Sixth Avenue from midday: floats, merengue and bachata sound systems, folkloric dance troupes and a great deal of flag-waving. New York has one of the biggest Dominican populations anywhere, and the parade is where that shows up most visibly. Watching from the pavement costs nothing.
