Lyricist Lounge began as an open-mic in a Lower East Side apartment and became the proving ground for a generation of New York rappers. Thirty-five years on it marks the anniversary at the Prospect Park bandshell, free and outdoors, with the kind of lineup that tends to be announced late and turn out deeper than billed.
