About this event
Volunteers hand you a kayak, a paddle and a life jacket and let you loose in a protected stretch of the Hudson with Lower Manhattan at your back. No experience needed and nothing to pay — just the ability to swim and a waiver signed on the day. Weekend sessions run all afternoon; midweek evening paddles continue until late August. Come early, the sign-up line closes when demand peaks.
