Sunday session of the volunteer-run boathouse at Pier 26. Kayaks, paddles and life jackets are lent free for a short supervised paddle in the sheltered water beside the pier. Beginners are the norm rather than the exception, and staff walk you through the basics on the dock before you launch. Arrive early on hot weekends; the queue builds by midday.
