About this event
Anton Zimmermann was central to Bratislava's musical life in the 1770s and two of his symphonies were long attributed to Haydn. The Zimmermann Ensemble pairs his rarely heard violin sonatas with a Haydn trio, played as eighteenth-century audiences understood them: harpsichord leading, strings accompanying, the violin given more independence than the cello.
