About this event
Every two years the Grand-Place disappears under a carpet of cut dahlias. The 24th edition marks 160 years of Belgium-Japan relations with Hiro Sugiyama's reworking of Hokusai's Great Wave off Kanagawa in more than 500,000 flowers. A second carpet appears at the Bourse. Evenings bring a half-hourly sound and light show.

Free entry
Access to the Grand-Place itself is free. The Town Hall balcony view is ticketed (8 EUR advance, 9 EUR on site) and is not required. Balcony pricing is on the official page; the free status of the square is confirmed by Brussels Today rather than by the City page itself.
