About this event
Brussels' oldest tradition, attested since 1308 and recognised by UNESCO, sees the Bûûmdroegers cut a beech in the Sonian Forest at dawn and haul it through the city. Giants, brass bands and the companions of Saint Laurent accompany the tree on its joyeuse entrée before it is planted at Rue des Sables — and it must be in the ground before 17:00 or the honour passes to Leuven.
