About this event

Every two years the Grand-Place disappears under a carpet of dahlias. The 2026 edition marks 160 years of Belgian-Japanese relations with Hokusai's Great Wave reinterpreted by artist Hiro Sugiyama in more than 500,000 flowers, plus a first-ever second carpet at the Bourse on a brewing-heritage theme. A sound-and-light show runs half-hourly each evening.

Why we picked it

Brussels' biggest free spectacle, only held in even years, and this edition adds a second carpet at the Bourse for the first time.
