For the 9 d'Octubre, Valencia rebuilds Jaume I's encampment in the Parc Central: tents, workshops and reenactors staffing both the civil and the military quarters, with free run of the site across the opening weekend. It is the most substantial of the holiday's daytime offerings and the one that rewards an hour's wandering rather than ten minutes of watching a parade go past.
