Manhattan School of Music opens the doors on its in-house piano competition, named for the long-serving faculty member Dora Zaslavsky Koch. The finalists play full recital programmes to a jury in Neidorff-Karpati Hall, and the winner goes on to a concerto slot with the MSM Symphony Orchestra. Competition listening is a particular pleasure - high stakes, no interval chatter, and free to walk into.
