Über dieses Event
The best free view in New York costs a signature and a slightly damp pair of shorts. Brooklyn Bridge Park's volunteer boathouse runs short paddles from the Pier 2 dock in the sheltered embayment between Piers 1 and 2, with the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline directly overhead. Kayaks, paddles, vests and beginner instruction are all provided; first-timers are welcome.

Completely free. Sessions are roughly 20 minutes on the water. Under-13s must be accompanied in the boat by a parent or guardian; ages 14–17 may paddle solo with a signed waiver and an adult present. Waivers required for everyone.

Free timed reservations strongly recommended and open exactly two weeks in advance via the Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse site. Limited capacity; walk-ups sometimes accommodated but not guaranteed. Can be cancelled for weather.
