Five hours of kites and live music on the Hudson at Pier i, run by Riverside Park Conservancy as part of Summer on the Hudson. Children get free make-your-own kite kits while stocks last, and anyone with a kite of their own is welcome to bring it. Wide open river sky, reliable afternoon wind, and no ticket — a straightforwardly joyful afternoon.
