Über dieses Event
The first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Spain in over a century, and Madrid City Council has designated a single official observation site: the wide, low-light-pollution lawns of the Valdebebas forest park. Totality lasts only 30 to 90 seconds this far south, arriving at 20:32 with the sun already low. Certified ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses are essential — ordinary sunglasses will not do.

Access to the official viewing site is free, but capped. Reported capacity is 3,000 people with free places allocated in advance via the city council's web portal. Eclipse glasses are being distributed free by the regional government.
