The Praca de Sao Paulo, a square just behind Cais do Sodre, has been turned into an open-air gallery with works installed around the church and the surrounding space. It is free to walk through at any point during opening hours, and it puts contemporary art directly in the path of everyday Lisbon foot traffic.
