Hungary's national day fills Budapest with ceremonies, folk programmes, food streets and an air parade over the Danube, closing with what the organisers bill as Europe's largest fireworks display, projected against the Parliament, Gellert Hill and the National Gallery. The wider programme runs 16 to 21 August across more than twenty city locations.
