For the 27th year running, Greece's Ministry of Culture throws open archaeological sites, monuments and museums on the night of the August full moon, free of charge, many with concerts, recitals and readings staged among the ruins. Athens and Attica account for a large share of the 126 participating sites. Opening hours and programmes vary by site, so check the official listing before setting out.
