Children carry hollowed-out melon lanterns through the walled streets of Alcúdia after dark, in a late-August tradition that predates anything imported from Halloween. The medieval old town, lit only by the lanterns and shopfronts, is the whole point. Easy to combine with a day on the Platja d'Alcúdia.
