The Royal Swedish Opera opens Stockholm's five-day culture festival on the main stage at Gustav Adolfs torg, directly across the water from its own opera house. It is the festival's traditional curtain-raiser: full company forces in the open air, on a square that spends the rest of the year as a traffic junction, with the same programme also returning on 13 August.
