The 44th India Day Parade runs down Madison Avenue marking Indian independence, with floats, marching bands, classical and Bollywood dance troupes and a street fair atmosphere at the southern end. It is the biggest Indian Independence Day event outside India, and five hours long, so you can arrive late and still catch plenty of it.
