Drop-in kayaking in the protected embayment beside Pier 26, staffed by volunteers and free to all comers. Sign the waiver, take a vest, and paddle a short loop inside the buoys while ferries churn past further out. A good Sunday morning plan if you want the river without the price of a guided trip.
