About this event
On 5 August Warsaw marks the Wola massacre, when tens of thousands of civilians were killed in a single district over a few days in 1944. A ceremony at the Leszno monument at six is followed by a march through Wola, ending with candles lit at the Warsaw Insurgents Park monument at half past eight. Sombre, deeply local, and open to anyone who wants to walk.
