About this event
Targówek's cultural centre opens a season of Polish silent cinema with live accompaniment. "Bestia" (1917) is the film Pola Negri made before Berlin and Hollywood took her — the only surviving Polish feature with her in it, screened here with musicians playing to the picture rather than a recorded score.
Why we picked it
Pola Negri's surviving Polish film with live music, free, in a neighbourhood cultural centre rather than a festival venue.
