About this event
A programme that sets Palestrina against Penderecki — Renaissance polyphony and twentieth-century Polish sacred writing in the same hour — in the Field Cathedral of the Polish Army on Długa, at the edge of the New Town. The building's long reverberation is exactly what both composers wrote for.
Why we picked it
Four hundred years of sacred choral writing in one sitting, free, in a cathedral built for the sound.
