About this event
Margareten's square turns autumnal for an afternoon of pumpkins: carving, tasting, soup and the usual neighbourhood stalls. It is a local district festival rather than a tourist draw, held on one of the pleasanter squares in the fifth district, and a good excuse to be in Margareten rather than the Innenstadt as the light goes.
Why we picked it
A proper neighbourhood autumn festival, free, on a square that rewards an unhurried afternoon off the tourist route.
Free entry
City of Vienna event page gives the price as "Gratis".
