About this event
Kigaidaiko, an all-female Italian taiko group, close a masterclass with Japanese drummers Leonard Eto and Iori Tadokoro by putting the results on stage. The great Japanese drum meets dance here: rhythm, gesture and sheer physical presence, with traditional technique set against contemporary reworking. Part of the Kemono Michi project funded by the Japan Foundation, and free to attend.
Why we picked it
Taiko at this level rarely appears free anywhere in Europe, let alone on a Roman municipal stage.
