About this event
On the first Sunday of every month the museums of Roma Capitale open their doors at no charge, alongside state-run museums and archaeological parks. It is the cheapest way to see the Capitoline collections, Palazzo Braschi or the Ara Pacis, and one of the few days when Rome's civic art is genuinely open to everyone.
Why we picked it
A single Sunday that unlocks dozens of Rome's best museums for nothing, on the first weekend of the month.
Free entry
Turismo Roma states that on 2 August, as every first Sunday of the month, the museums managed by Roma Capitale open 'gratuitamente' (free admission). Some sites may still charge for temporary exhibitions.
