About this event

On the first Sunday of every month Rome drops admission across its civic museum system and several of its best archaeological sites. October's falls on the 4th, taking in the Museo della Forma Urbis, the Area Sacra di Largo Argentina where Caesar was killed, the Circo Massimo and the Imperial Fora. Several temporary exhibitions inside the civic museums are free too, though a handful of shows keep their normal ticket.

Why we picked it

The single highest-value free day in Rome's month, covering the civic museums and major archaeological sites at once.
