About this event
Once a year Rome makes it snow in August. On the night of 5 August, thousands of white petals drift down over the piazza in front of Santa Maria Maggiore, re-enacting the 4th-century legend of a miraculous summer snowfall that supposedly marked out where the basilica should stand. Expect lights, music and a genuinely magical crowd moment.
