About this event

Cheoyongmu comes from a 9th-century Silla legend: Cheoyong found a stranger with his wife, sang and danced instead of taking revenge, and the smallpox spirit — moved — promised to spare any house showing his face. The masked court dance that grew out of that story is performed over two evenings, with song and belief folded into the choreography.
