Telescopes in the middle of the Place des Vosges is a particular kind of Paris evening: seventeenth-century arcades on all four sides, the sky above, and volunteer astronomers happy to explain what is in the eyepiece. The session runs late into the night on the 15 August holiday weekend, and like every date in the series it costs nothing and needs no booking.
