About this event

Paris sees the sun roughly 93% eclipsed at sunset on 12 August, and the Association Française d'Astronomie brings filtered solar equipment to the open lawns of Parc André Citroën so you can watch it safely. Once darkness falls the same telescopes swing to lunar craters, nebulae and star clusters, with guides walking newcomers through the constellations until one in the morning.

Why we picked it

One of the best public vantage points in Paris for a near-total solar eclipse, with safe viewing equipment supplied free.
