About this event
Red Hook's all-volunteer boat club runs walk-up paddling from the little beach at Valentino Pier, looking straight out at the Statue of Liberty across the harbour. Boats, gear and a safety briefing are free; the cove is protected, so it suits complete beginners. Sessions usually end with a beach clean-up, which tells you most of what you need to know about the club.
Why we picked it
No booking, no fee, and a Statue of Liberty view most people pay for — plus a genuine neighbourhood-volunteer story that reads well for Glentio.
