About this event
City Parks Foundation's travelling marionette theatre lets Pinocchio loose on New York, with Gepetto chasing him across the five boroughs. The PuppetMobile unfolds into a proper stage in a city park, the show runs about an hour, and children sit on the grass at the front. Hand-carved puppets, live performance, no ticket desk anywhere in sight.
Why we picked it
A full marionette production staged for nothing in an outer-borough park — exactly the kind of thing families assume has to cost money.
