About this event
Architect William Bialosky digs up Collect Pond, the freshwater lake that supplied New York for two centuries before the city buried it in 1802. The unstable ground it left behind made the land cheap, which shaped who ended up living there — Five Points first, then Chinatown. An illustrated talk that explains a neighbourhood through the water underneath it.
