About this event
Washington Irving's headless horseman comes to the Dutch farmhouse in Prospect Park for an afternoon of storytelling in the week before Halloween. Lefferts Historic House is an eighteenth-century working homestead, so the telling sits among hearths, heirloom crops and period rooms — atmospheric rather than frightening, and pitched at families with younger children.
Why we picked it
A properly seasonal, properly free Halloween-week outing for families in Brooklyn, in a historic house rather than a haunted-attraction queue — and Prospect Park Alliance programming is reliably well-run.
Free entry
Free to attend. Eventbrite lists lowPrice and highPrice as 0.0 and flags the event isFree.
Registration
Registration needed
Free Eventbrite registration — capacity at a small historic house is limited, so book ahead.
A third-party event from official public listings, checked by Glentio. Programmes can change. Confirm on the organiser's site.
