Randall's Island Park Alliance and City Parks Foundation run a proper weekly track and field session for eight- to sixteen-year-olds: running, jumping, throwing and distance work coached from the fundamentals up. It is the kind of structured sport that normally costs a season fee, held outdoors in East Harlem on Saturday mornings through the end of October.
