About this event
The LES Ecology Center brings NYC-made compost to 6&B Community Garden's annual October Harvest Fest, handing out one-pound bags for houseplants on a first-come basis, five per person. The garden itself is one of the East Village's oldest, and the Harvest Fest is the afternoon it fully opens up to the neighbourhood.
Why we picked it
A real East Village community garden at its liveliest afternoon of the year, with something free to take home for a windowsill.
Free entry
Organiser states "Come pick up some free 1-lb bags of NYC-made compost" and "No registration is required for this event." Given away first-come, first-served, maximum five bags per person.
