About this event
The Downtown Boathouse hands out sit-on-top kayaks for free public paddling in the sheltered Hudson River embayment just north of Pier 26. No experience is needed, but you must be able to swim; volunteers give basic instruction, fit your life vest and help you on and off the floating dock. Children are welcome with a parent or guardian. Free lockers, changing areas and an outdoor shower on site.
