About this event
America's only museum dedicated to posters goes free once a month and stacks the day with things to do: a posters and ephemera tour with Es-pranza Humphrey and John T. Reddick at noon, drop-in lobby-card design all afternoon, a curator's tour of Love & Fury: New York's Fight Against AIDS at 6 pm, and the Jerome Jennings Trio with tap dancer Maurice Chestnut at 7 pm.
Why we picked it
Free admission plus a curator tour and a live jazz-and-tap set in one Chelsea evening — unusually good value for a small museum.
Free entry
Poster House states: 'Join Poster House on the First Friday of every month for free admission and extended hours.' The listed tours, the curatorial tour and the jazz and tap performance are all listed at no cost; two of the day's craft workshops are separately priced at $10, so those are excluded here.
Registration
Registration needed
Free; individual tours and performances have their own free listings and some ask you to reserve a place — capacity in the galleries is limited
