About this event
The pregón formally opens the Salamanca district's Pilar festival, delivered this year by Miguel Sanz, who runs the kiosk on Ortega y Gasset. Handing the opening speech to a shopkeeper rather than a dignitary is a deliberate choice, and a good one. Free, in Parque Eva Duarte.
Why we picked it
The opening speech of a district fiesta, given by a local shopkeeper rather than an official.
